Hi, I’m Enemute Matthew Oduaran, but most know me as Matt. I’m a Nigerian-American footballer with close to 14 years of professional experience in the U.S. and Europe. I started at D.C. United and the University of Maryland before playing in the Icelandic Premier League, over nine years in Portugal, and spells in Northern Ireland, Denmark, and Bahrain. I’ve also represented Nigeria at the U-20 level. I’m now preparing for my next opportunity and ready to make an immediate impact

About me
Hi, my name is Enemute Matthew Oduaran, but most people call me Matt. I’m a Nigerian-American professional footballer with nearly 14 years of experience playing in the U.S. and across Europe. I began my career at the D.C. United Academy and continued through the University of Maryland before turning professional with D.C. United.
From there, I moved to Europe, where I started in the Icelandic Premier League and went on to spend over nine years in Portugal, with additional stints in Northern Ireland, Denmark, and Bahrain. I’ve also had the honor of being called up to the Nigerian U-20 National Team in preparation for the U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
My career aspirations are to become one of the most effective and reliable goal scorers and creators in every team I represent. I want to lead the line, impact games consistently, and help my team win trophies. My short-term goal is to dominate at club level, by leading the league in goals and assists and helping to win trophies in anyway I can. Long term, I aspire to play at the highest level possible and to leave a legacy defined by both my performances and my character. I’m fully committed to the daily work it takes to reach that level.
I’m currently preparing for my next opportunity and am eager to bring my experience, work ethic, and attacking quality to a new club where I can make an immediate and positive impact

Aims & Goals
This year, my goal is to consistently score and assist, lead my team to a strong finish, and establish myself as one of the top attacking players in the league. I want to make enough impact to earn continue moving and playing at a higher level. Everything I’m doing is geared toward performing, winning, and progressing my career as much as possible.
Long term, I want to play at the highest level for as long as possible. I aim to be known as a complete forward who consistently delivers in big moments and helps teams win and progress. I’m chasing success in as many forms as possible so I’m committed to the daily work it takes, on and off the field, to get there
