About Me

Having started out in the professional game at a young age, I was invited to join the youth setup at Everton FC back in 1979. I later accepted an opportunity to trial at Feyenoord in Holland, where, at the time in the early 1980s, Ruud Gullit was showcasing his talent. On returning home, I had spells in the youth setup with my hometown club, Luton Town, under the guidance of the legendary John Moore.

However, it was in the non-league game where I truly found my footing, going on to play nearly 850 senior games over the next 20 years before finally hanging up my boots in 2001. While still playing, I obtained my coaching qualifications and moved into management and coaching within the semi-professional game.

I entered the world of scouting around 2005 through my former non-league teammate Iain Dowie, who I had played alongside at St Albans City and Hedon FC. Twenty years later, I’m proud to have served some fantastic clubs—most notably Leicester City FC, where I spent 15 years as part of the First Team Scouting Department. During that time, I was involved in the discovery of talents such as Jamie Vardy, N’Golo Kanté, and Riyad Mahrez. Highlights of my tenure include winning the Premier League in 2016, reaching the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in 2017, making the UEFA Conference League semi-finals in 2020–21, and lifting the FA Cup in 2021.

I remain extremely passionate about football scouting and am eager to continue my journey, contributing to another successful project in the world of football recruitment.
